Hello together

I want to reinstall the NWAGENT Trial version, but nwagent doesn´t start again.
Which files must be deleted, to install the trial again?

Thanks

What errors are you getting? -----------------------------------------------------

the trial version is expired !
I want to reinstall the version for the next 30 days.

Without getting into the moral and ethical debate over software licensing, I would guess that info is written to NDS and that you can't just uninstall & reinstall like you can with most Windows trials.

I would agree with that. There is no way around it unless you want to recreate your NDS from scratch - maybe not me thinks! -----------------------------------------------------

Sorry,

but the server is a test installation for this product. We have to test this agent for more than 30 days.
The information is not written to nds. There is a file generated ón the sys volume, which store this information.

I'm not familiar with that product but I will assume that it runs when the server boots. Look at the autoexec.ncf to see what entries are there for the agent or to see if it then "calls" another ncf file elsewhere.

How did you install it the first time? I've noticed that many of Novell's install programs use a file and directory structure similar to those on the server. Maybe you can browse the install disks.

Did you check Novell's support site? Again, on many of the TIDs they list the file and directory structure.

The agent should be stored in SYS:NWAGENT. If you think that the license information is stored in a file on your server, delete the file.

Also (and if you haven't already), delete or rename the SYS:NWAGENT directory and reinstall from there.

Don't know if it will work, but give it a try. -----------------------------------------------------

FYI...

There are only 2 NDS objects that ArcServe creates, an AS_BACKUP SERVER object and an AQ6_<ServerName> Queue object.

As for the Arcserve for NetWare Client Agents, it does not touch NDS. Its strictly a Server to Server communication thing via IPX or TCPIP.

"TheLad" is correct on the Directory structure.

We use ArcServeIT v7.0, with a few still running v6.6, across our entire WAN. It has its issues... but once corrected, it works great!

Good Luck!

TheLad is right. The files reside in sys:nwagent. I would just rename/delete this directory then re-install the agent or just copy the files over manually.
