Hai

I have NT based network, and proxy server 2.0 is installed on my NT server.I have Linux in the same network.I can able to browse the internet through my proxy server by giving proxy server address in netscape. But my problem is when I try to ping any site from command prompt I am not able to ping any site. In my proxy winsocks proxy, socks proxy and web proxy all three are running. Please give me suggestion to solve the problem as early as possible. Please help me in this matter as early as possible.

It is very very urgent.

if u are trying to ping a name then you must have your isp's server as ur nameserver in your /etc/resolv.conf file.

I tried like keeping the ip address in the /etc/resolv.conf.Then also I am not able to ping to any site I am not able to ping to Dns also. Please give me any other suggestions.

It sounds like you have a plain jane web proxy between you and the internet.
Plugging urls into your browser after giving it the proxy servers address will not let you ping external addresses.
You will have to specify a default GW and
get your routing right first, then make sure that there are no filters coming or going between you and icmp/udp traffic.
