Problem with PDA and SP3

In installing SP3 and a buffer overrun patch on workstations, I ran into the following problem with a PDA: The PDA will not connect or sync up to the computer. The PDA responds to attempts to connect with sound alerts, but the two don't sync up. No error message is given. Connection attempt is just dropped. Suggestions?

Have you tried doing a soft reset on the PDA? If it is Activesync this usually corrects the issue...well at least in most cases.

Sure, a soft reset may resolve this problem.
Have you checked the communications parameters??
A serial or USB port is needed, remember to keep this settings in both devices...
