This problem is racking my brain. I set up a few of our users with roaming profiles since they don't have static workstations. They frequently jump from machine to machine and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) standards require that they have their own user names and passwords. I have a local exchange server where all of the enterprise email accounts are stored. Locally, anyone with a roaming profile can open Outlook and access their emails.
However, at our remote sites, I keep getting a "Cannot Open Microsoft Outlook" message when I try to set up Outlook logged in as a roaming user. I can log in as an administrator and set up fine. I can log in as a non-roaming user and everything works fine. This only happens with roaming users. I can only guess that when a Outlook profile is being created it can't store something on the roaming profile or it can't find something on the profile. I have no idea. I can't even change the mail settings of the user because the mail icon doesn't show up in their profile as if Outlook isn't even installed. What's the issue?
