Hello,

I want to replace NTFS rights on my fileserver without deleting inheritance or explicit rights on subdirectories. To be more specific I want to change "everyone" with a new group. I tried it with a testfolder on my filserver:

subinacl /subdirectories "d:\temp\"/replace=mydomain\everyone=mydomain\newgroup

While "Everyone" has rights on this folder with subdirectories and files, I only get this:

Elapsed Time: 00 00:00:00
Done: 0, Modified 0, Failed 0, Syntax errors 0

What do I wrong? I tried other Users with administrative rights, and tried it on my workstation and a new testfolder. The same result.

It's a 2003 R2 Server, chkdsk returns no errors, and subinacl is version 5.2.3790.1180.

Is there anotherway to replace rights from one group/User with another one?

Regards
Michel

Embarrassing, embarrassing! I forgot "*.*" and the space between location and replace.

subinacl /subdirectories "d:\temp\*.*" /replace=mydomain\everyone=mydomain\newgroup
