Problem with nds

Hi everybody,

I have a big problem with the NDS of my Netware4-Server

the system means "the directory system database is closed, try running the local database repair" on every grip to the nds

if i start this function with dsrepair the programm make a page fault !! with the errormessage
illegal syntax
value is purged
Attribute 00004b00 NLS summary time.....

What can I do Who can help me ???

What version of NetWare 4 are you running, 4.11 or 4.2? Also, what level of Support Pack do you have installed?

These questions will be helpful in trying to help you out.

Hi,
I use netware 4.11 with SP9 !

DSRepair is running now (has repaired some errors), but now every login try on the server bring back the same page fault !!

What can I do ??

What version of DS.NLM are you running? It sounds like DS.NLM is having some problems. You may want to try re-installing SP9, or just update the DS files, then try running DSREPAIR again.

-->salserocito : I m not sure, i think that the ds.nlm is not corrupt... , because the error is also with the SP9-ds-Files !! (I have install sp9 AFTER the error)

The version of ds is 6.11 !

the page fault message:

Hi,
i have forget to write :

the error comes every, if I put the network cable in the network card!! That means, if anyone (!!PRintserver!!) will use the DS and will login to the system the page fault is coming !!

Try this...

Bring up the server with a SERVER -NDB, go to DSREPAIR | ADVANCED OPTIONS | REPAIR LOCAL DS DATABASE | and ensure that the CHECK LOCAL REFERENCES and REBUILD OPERATIONAL SCHEMA options are set to YES. Continue to run the repair until it gets 0 errors. The server should come up fine after that.

If this doesn't work, let me know.

now its a little bit better...
i can login me with 2 user into my server, but
every time he beep and said Police Manager error C0001003...
NLS.Nlm not loaded ..

if I try to load the nls manualy there are no errormessages, but the module is not loaded !!

any idea ???

From the Server Console, run SETUPNLS.

Setupnls had no effects, the same error like before...
the police manager bring the C0001003 error!

I think that my license files or connection licenses files are bad.. But if i try to de-install the license or try to install the licenses then the install program message the error : cannot install the connection license... because cn=admin.o=ObjectName does not have the proper privileges!!

The name and the passwort are not false !!

any idea ??

I has same situation many month ago and i found TID on support.novell.com, which help me. I don't remember TID number, but i remember that Novell recommend replace 3-5 files from SP9 onto files from SP8. Find this TID on novell.support.com and you solve your trouble.
