Please help

I have a msaccess database on a network drive and have multiple users entering data. Is there a way to have them enter in data at the same time without overlaping?

thanks,

Take a look into record locking, however even with this you may find that Access doesn't cope well with this use.

Everybody body is somebodys Nutter.

When i have used Access in the past with many users affecting tables simultaneously i have always had a confirm/submit button on a form which programmatically adds the records or updates the records in the table instead of relying on the Microsoft way.

This means that the records can be changed/added in a split second instead of the form that is open locking up the whole table.

It does, however, also mean that you have to populate your form programatically if you need information from the table to be available.

Hope this helps,

Hi, to get roud this problem I have build the database in Access then used the ADO object model to access the data. This allows Recordlocking etc.
