Hi,

We are updating our desktops to Windows XP from W2k and have come across the following problem, it seems to be a bug that affects ALL Oracle Applications that use Oracle Menus and navigate more than 2 levels deep.

FORM A Main Menu (Level 1)

FORM B Sub Menu (Level 2)

FORM C Data Entry Screen (Level 3)

The menu attached to FORM C remains on screen when the Form is closed (thus replacing the menu attached to Form B). This menu will be non functional and if an icon is clicked (e.g. EXIT), some bizarre action will be carried out such as a report being run.

A message has been placed on the Metalink Site and we are awaiting an answer but I was wondering whether anybody else here has hit this before???

We are using Oracle Forms 6i patch 12, we have tested the forms on XP with patch 15 and it hasn't fixed it....

Thanks!

The problem I've experienced on some releases of XP is that windows are not automatically removed when they are closed.

Have you tried using patch 13 which Oracle claims is XP compatible?

Hi - thanks for the advice, we tried it with Patch 14 and it seems to work ok. The only thing is we don't have a true patch 14 set up as we regressed only the forms & reports runtimes to 14 from 15 and left the rest! We shall try it from a clean machine. Thanks again.
