Problem With JPGs?

I have a CVS repository including a number of JPGs. When I try to do cvs checkout they aren't getting downloaded properly. I tried on multiple computers, and on each case only got 54 bytes (which looks to include some binary and bits of exif data) for each image.

I am using CVS with a remote repository accessed over ssh. Checking the repository, the images appear to be complete there.

Is this something I'm missing?

I'm not sure if this is the cause of what you are seeing but are the jpg's stored in the repository as binary files? I missed that step out and got some treated like text which really messed them up.
