Problem with ISA and Exchange 2000

I have an Exchange2k server behind our ISA.

I have published smtp and everything works 95% of the time.

About once every two weeks, however, incoming email stops working from outside the company (internal emails still can go outside, however). Once I restart the ISA server, everything starts working again.

Any reason why this server publishing stops working after awhile?

Any chance it's due to packet fragmentation?
Have you tried unyticking the packet fragmentation checking for a while to see if it makes any difference.
