Hi guys,

I need help. We recently upgrade our Definity firmware and I have strange behaviour with ip telephony now.

I have a CLAN+MEDPRO in VLAN10 for about 80 ip phones and I have another CLAN+MEDPRO in VLAN1 for ip trunking between Quebec and Montreal.

If someone in VLAN 10(IP phone) try to call someone in Montreal, before the upgrade, all was good, but now, I have no audio.

I also have conventionnal phones (6408) in our Quebec Definity and if they try to reach someone in Montreal passing through IP TRUNK between both sites, it works.

It's very strange.

Is somebody knows something about it?

Thanks

Get your data networks guys to check that the CLAN and MedPro boards are at the correct speed for the routers. We had a problem here where the CLANs locked at 10Meg half duplex but instructions from Avaya suggested that they should have been running at 100Meg full duplex and that the routers should be locked at 100Meg. This resulted in signalling reaching the dialled phone but no audio.

Make sure the routers are set to auto negotiate because the CLAN and Medpro cannot be adjusted through the PABX.

What was actually upgraded? Possible ip-network-region issue, if trunk is one region, and ip phones are another.

yea, the upgrade, was it to R11?? do the phones talk direct to the end device or do they hairpin? you need to check that..

R11 added more features for how the IP works..
