Hi,

This may be a bit vague. When I open internet explorer, I cant get on the internet because several addresses keep flashing in the address bar. I can hit the stop button and it stops but when I type an address in it just starts again. My internet connection is working as it was working fine yesterday and nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Try changing your home page address. You might have hit a website that changed your home page address. And the new address could have a redirect.

need more info to understand what is going on.
What are the addresses that keep flashing?

Further developments guys. Before I read your posts (thanks for posting) I ran spybot s&d and removed a bunch of stuff. Now I dont have the addresses flashing anymore but I also dont have any internet connection! I have a vpn connection to my headoffice and that works fine, other computers on the network (we are workgrouped) can access the internet fine, but when I double click internet explorer I get a delay then get Page cannot be displayed. Any ideas what I can do to get internet connectivity back?

SOLUTION!!

I booted in safe mode and the internet connection worked, this got me to thinking that it must be something running in the background that doesnt run in safe mode. My first stop was disabling the Zone Alarm firewall I had, this did the trick. The internet was back on, a friend reccommended using Sygate Personal Firewall instead so I tried that and I have no problems at all. Thanks again for posting, I appreciate the help.

Cheers
