Hi all,

I have problem with internet IE problem after install windows server 2003 sp1. The internet really slow when I browse to any web site (take 2-3 minutes to go to any web site).
I uninstalled the sp1 and the internet perfomance back up normal and fast.

I am not sure what I need to config to make it works as normal.

Any suggestion really appriciate!!.

Thanks---

I would first check your DNS. Also make sure that the IE Connections tab has all the right settings for your network.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Thanks Mark-- I will check your suggestion tonight and let you know the result. By the way, this is the server that I installed at home for my learning purpose.
As your suggestion, I need to check DNS. What do I need to look into DNS?.
Thank you,

John

To check what your DNS server is, go to Start -> Run -> cmd. Type the following: ipconfig /all.

To modify these settings go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Local Area Connection -> Properties -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties.

Your DNS settings on the server NIC should only point to itself for DNS. In your DNS Server snap-in you will configure the ISP DNS on the Forwarders tab.

If your server provides DHCP addresses to clients, make sure that the DHCP scope option are providing the servers IP for DNS and NOT the ISP DNS.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
