Hi all,

Being a graphic designer I hardly ever use Microsoft office, but I need to create a World template now. I want the first page to have different headers and footers as the rest of the pages. I managed to do this (Format>Document>Layout>Headers & Footers: Different first page) but when I now want to set the margins from page 2 on different to the margins on page one (by placing the cursor in the beginning of the text and adjusting the top margin (Format>Document>Margins) from this point forward, the headers and footers get 'mixed up'.

Is there any way to set different margins from the second page on without messing up the headers and footers?

Many thanks in advance!

Just to elaborate...

Margins are attributes of Sections. Therefore, to have different margins you must have - as mintjulep mentions - a Section break.

So, have your first page separated from the second page by a Section break (most likely Next Page, although you can force an Odd or Even page if you like).

As the first page will now be in its own Section, technically, there is no need to have it as DifferentFirstPage, as it will be the only page in that Section.

Thanks a lot! Works like a train with different sections ;)
