Hi I have 3 group levels in my report. say for example country, state and region. and there is a 'amount in $' field in the report and i have to display the sum of 'amount in $' for the three groups. that is when i open the report it has all the countries and their respective sums, then if i click on aparticular country it shows all the states in that particular country and their individual totals which all together make up that countries total.(I used the supress drilldown allowed option on the inner level groups) Now the problem what i have is I am getting the values but when i click on a particular country it is showing all the states and their sums and in the end it also showing the country group footer and its sum which i do not want. is there a way i could eliminate this.

I also have one more problem, for countries i have the the column headings in the page header saying countries, but for the states inside the countries where do i put the column headings. because when i click on the country to enter the states group the states do not have any heading saying that they are staes, if i put the column name in the states group header this is repeated for every stae. i need it only once at the begining of the group.

Thanks...

There's a cool function in crystal (I don't know your version, so look around, I think it showed up first in 9). It is called 'drilldowngrouplevel'.

When I need to do what you are talking about I make multiple sections for each grouping. Like a section A and a section B.

Section A (in it's suppression formula) has something like

Code:
drilldowngrouplevel>0

Section B has something like

Code:
drilldowngrouplevel=0

drilldowngrouplevel 0 is no drilldown. 1 and greater is deeper.

Section A will appear on the main report, and not on the drilldown. Section B will not appear on the main report but will appear in the drilldown.

Page headers and footers don't appear in drilldowns. So I copy the page column heads into the group header that appears on drilldowns.

Footers are trickier, but not impossible.

Experiment with this and I think you'll solve your problem.

Thanks very much it worked great.
