problem with fox2.6 dos under Win XP

When i run my Foxpro 2.6 (dos) under WIndows Xp the error it's too many files open..
i try to modify my config.sys where i put the line
Files=70but when i restart my computer the config.sys is empty

You're putting it in the wrong place, ety1910.
I only know NT 4.0 but on that system you'd put the FILES=xx command in \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG.NT.
Win XP is probably similar.
I'd be interested to know your impressions of running DOS FoxPro on XP. I've not been impressed with it on NT.
 
We have a mixed peer-to-peer network of 95,98,Me and now 2 XP workstations. We have had good luck so far. Our biggest issue was XP's non-support of Netbeui, but after we eliminated it on all the other machines everything is working fine (Gad, I didn't actually put that in writing, did I?) Changing config.nt will work. Good Luck!
