Hello
I have a problem with a FLASH Voice Mail. It was recently replaced with a newer FLASH and the old 2 port expansion module was removed from the original unit and placed into the newer unit.
The new unit worked well on install but now seems to be acting up as it is not even seem on the system.
It is punched down to port 125, 126 as was the old unit on the original CICS KSU. The KSU has one 4x0 line call and has the expansion card making it a 24 DN/extension set up.
I have tried F985, F981, F983 and nothing comes of it. I have even inputed F902 to check if the codes were configured still and that didn't work either.
Is this a port issue on the KSU or is there something worng with the expansion module? The new unit worked fine for about a week but now is completely offline.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Regards
Dan

Did you plug a phone into those ports and see if the ports are good? then try F903 and then f983.

Makes you wonder if the older one still works now?.

Assuming typo on the F902.

I agree, test those ports with a phone.
If flaky ports then move/swap.
Was the power supply replaced?

Hello and thanks for the suggestions, here is where thhings stand.
I switched ports (from 125, 126 to 113, 119) and tried both sets of ports with a phone set. Both ports (125, 126 and 113, 119) worked with the set, I was able to make calls in coming and out going.
I removed the expansion module from the unit that makes the system a 4 port voice mail realizing that it will default the unit back to a two port voice mail but had to try something.
Currently the voice mail is still down and showing "Inactive feature" when inputing F 903, 985, 981, 983.

Has adding the 2 port expansion module to the replaced FLASH 2 port unit caused a corruption?

I am going to try the power supply from the original unit tomorrow to see if that will work better.
After configuration, the solution did work for a short time but currently is operatiing just as the original unit did, which is not at all.
Any other suggestions to remedy this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Dan

If you did not first power down it may have caused damage.

Could be coincidence the replacement was on its last legs or their is a power issue at site.
Did you replace the power supply as well?

What version is the software on the "newer" voicemail? Do you have another system to try these on? pull the the software card out and re-seat them when they are unplugged.remove the expansion card and see if they boot up without it. also the original one take the cover off and use a air blower to he board. i have a ceramic company that the dust builds up every two years or so and it seems to need this done because it heats up. ( can't get them to move it to a cleaner area)
