Good morning, i have some problem with a Exchange server 2003 configuration. The server is a rimary domain controller and the domain is "domain.local". By default when I create an Active directory user and answer "yes" for the creation of a linked mailbox the system create a mailbox "user@domain.local". Well if I install a pop3 connector to this mailbox, when i try to chek mail, the server works well, it download in my mailbox the e-mail, but when i try to send mail the smtp system tell me that "user@domain.local" is not a valid recognized as a valid e-mail address. If i try to rename the mail as "user@domain.it" the smtp work well but when i try to get mail with the connector, the mail are disappear form my hosting mail, but i did'nt receive it in my exchange mailbox.

Anyone can help me??

P.S: Excuse my english

In you exchange system manager open the default recipient policy and add your external domain as a new SMTP address under e-mail addresses policy. Set this as the primary and your users mail will be sent "from" this domain.

If you have your users set not to update from policy you will have to add their e-mail addresses mannually through AD Users and Computer.
