Problem with Auto Numbering

Hi All, I was trying to append some records to a table and got the Key Violations error message. Upon investigating, I discovered that a new record added to the table creates a duplicate number in the autonumber field (which is set as the primary key, not to allow duplicates.) I have never seen this happen before. Any ideas on how I fix it. I use Access 2010.

Nevermind, fixed with a compact and repair. :)
