Problem with a hunt group

We currently have a hunt group setup so that if a caller chooses a particular menu option, it rings everyone in that group at the same time to ensure that it gets answered promptly. The problem that is being reported to me is that when a person is on the phone, they do not see additional incoming calls. This also means that they cannot put the current caller on hold to answer the new call.

It seems that adding multi-line access to the phones is not possible in a hunt group, at least I get an error saying as much when I try.

Is there a particular solution, possibly something other than a hunt group setup, that allows one extension to ring multiple phones at the same time, as well as allow those phones to access other lines and put people on hold?

If any other information is needed to properly answer, let me know. Thank you in advance.

Several issues with your question:

Controller type and SW are mandatory.

My experience with 3300's and SX-200's tells me that you have neither of these as the functionality in hunt groups does not work the way you describe on those systems.

Please provide more info.

You could simply use multiline appearances ie put a number of multiline appearance of extension 2000 on the sets. The problem with that is if you put one of those appearances on hold it doesn't show on the other phones so the holder has to be the retriever.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Sorry for the delayed response; I got shifted around for a while but now I'm back. The system is SX-200 ICP (version 5.0.1.1 CXi according to the web gui). We only have about 8 phones in use.

Detailed information

Under CDE form 17, I have hunt group 3 configured with the following options:
Access Code - 113
Name - Billing
Overflow - 221
All 3 ring times - 0:20
Ring All Members - YES
Tenant - 1

I also have four extensions listed under the hunt group for the phones that are supposed to be part of it. This functionality works as expected, in that when someone calls extension 113 (or is routed through the Auto Attendant to 113), all four phones ring at the same time for 20 seconds, and transfer to voicemail (221) if unanswered.

What needs to happen, is users need to be able to see incoming calls from that hunt group even if they are on the phone, and preferably be able to put their call on hold and pick up the hunt group call if needed.

@LoopyLou
Thank you, I will test that out when I'm back on site and let you know the results.

Just goes to show that there are still things that I don't know. I had no idea that the 200 had an option to ring all members at the same time. I'm curious when that might have been added.

There are a number of options but most would use up several keys on the phone. Do you have extra keys?
