Problem with 4si Job Offset

We want our 4si Laserjets to offset each print job from side to side, so that the print jobs are separated from one another. At least one of the printers used to do this.

All of the 4si's have JOB OFFSET = ON set on the control panel. However, instead of offsetting each separate job, they are offsetting each PAGE. This is a nuisance.

Does anyone have a solution?

After each offset does the printer make a 'clank' noise? Put not your trust in princes.

I have a new problem with offset. Now I have one printer (out of 5 4si's) which does not offset the jobs, even though Job Offset = ON in the control panel. Does anyone know why this might be?
