Howdy y'all!

Using SCO 3.2V5.0.5

I telnet to IP for some basic maintenance. While in telnet session, I ran 'scoadmin' to add a new user. Once I choose account manager, system hangs retrieving "User Account Information" and it never goes on to next level.

I 'vi' /etc/passwd and found a few lines with what appear to be escape characters and some single character user names (signs that some one has been playing around). I removed lines from /etc/passwd. I then ran authck -a -v and fixmog.

I am still having problem ... What do I do to fix this?

Thanks;

Type "userls" to provide you with a list of users on the system. Maybe an error will be displayed that may provide you with a file that cannot be opened or is corrupted.

What patch level? Don't know if it will help or apply but scoadmin was upgraded with 5/0/5a. Ed Fair
