I have installed the imsext.dll so we automatically add a legal disclaimer at the end of all our outgoing SMTP mail. It seems to work fine apart from one small problem.

Our company has 3 locations, Site A, Site B and Site C.

Site A consists of one exchange server which holds all the mailboxes, and one exchange server which is only used as the IMC

Sites B consists of one exchange server which holds users' mailboxes. When sending SMTP mail externally, it connects to the IMC Server at Site A

Sites C consists of one exchange server which holds users' mailboxes. When sending SMTP mail externally, it connects to the IMC Server at Site A.

When sending a mail to an external address from each site, the disclaimer is attached. GREAT!!

However, when a mail is received externally from an external address and is delivered to a user at Site B or Site C, the disclaimer is also attached to the incoming mail.

Has anyone seen this before, or does anyone know how to stop this happening? I thought it might have something to do with the IMC being used to route incoming mail to Site B and Site C, but it is also used to route incoming mail to the server that holds the mailboxes on Site A, so I'm not too sure what's going on!!

I followed the instruction from technet and some other resources I found on the internet to the letter, and I've double checked the registry entried I've created and they appear to be exactly as they should be.
If someone annoys you, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you'll be a mile away from them, and you'll have their shoes )

without knowing much about your setup, that sort of sounds like your Servers at Site A consider the servers at Site B and C to be external clients, right? So, I'd think you're on the right track, that it's the IMC and routing...how do you have that set up?

Thanks for getting back to me :)

The setup is quite complex. Unfortunately I've been pulled off to another project for the moment, but I'll get to back to you soon!!

Thanks again mate :) If someone annoys you, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you'll be a mile away from them, and you'll have their shoes )
