Problem uploading file - urgent

I have an admin system for maintaining three databases of retailers.

The databases collect details of retailers who currently offer my clients services. One is a simple name, address, etc database and with the other two it is possible to either assign a logo or upload a new one.

The database that doesn't contain any logos works fine, and the complete system works from every other computer apart from the clients own (a slight problem!).

I have upgraded to ColdFusion 4.5.1 and the system runs on windows NT4 Sp 6.

The clients are using NT4 with IE5 and access the web through Microsoft proxy server and Firewall-1 (don't know if the last two are relevant but I'm really struggling to fix this one!!!)

Is anybody aware of any known bugs relating to uploading files using enctype="multipart/form-data" or any other issues that I may be missing.

First thing you should do is update to SP6a as SP6 causes problems with CF.

The other thing I am wondering about is that you said you are storing your images in the database?
This is a very strange thing to do and not a good idea.
As the image tag cannot point to a database, it must point to a real image file, I must assume that every image is being pulled out of the database and a temp file created while the img tag points to. This is bounch to cause problems.
The correct way to store images is to store them on the server and only store the filename in the database.

You also haven't stated what the actual error is that your client gets.
It could be a CF error, a database error, a server error, anything, you need to be more specififc.

Sorry for the confusion, you are indeed correct I am storing the filenames, not the actual files.

Also, I've just checked and the NT server is Sp6a.

The client doesn't receive an actual error. The confirmation page that I have written doesn't come up, but the record is not written to the database. I know I'm not being very specific, but that's because I'm completely stumped about where the problem lies.

I checked the log files and I get the following error message

Invalid multi-part data - The multi-part boundary marker is not present in the posted data.

Ok, for starters: does the file get uploaded? Does anything get inserted into the database at all? What *specifically* is happening here, and what's working and what isn't, and how?

Also, is the client uploading using a Mac? Macs can mess up file transfers something awful because of the way Macs handle files versus a PC. Yes, it's a known problem, I've got it also. One of the parts of the coldfusion server takes a lot of memory, but won't give it free at a sertain moment. And even when you increase your intern memory or swap file it isn't working, and i'm also looking for the solution. And it's only happening on a NT system, not 9x [sig][/sig]
