Hi all,
I need help, with upgrading 16xx ip phones firmware.
Firmware files are loadet to S8300, DHCP server on G450 media gatevay:
Mode: Active
Start IP Address Range: 192.168.110.115
End IP Address Range: 192.168.110.200
Lease Time: 8 days 0 hours 0 minutes 0 seconds
BootFile: N/A
Next-Server: N/A
Client-Identifier: N/A
Server-Name: N/A
DHCP options
Option Num 1 Name subnet-mask
Value 255.255.255.0
Option Num 3 Name default-router
Value 192.168.110.254
Option Num 6 Name dns-server
Value 192.168.110.254 212.59.0.1
Option Num 242 Name Option #242
Value MCIPADD=192.168.110.1, MCPORT=1719, HTTPSRVR=192.168.110
.253

I trayed use diferent string "MCIPADD=192.168.110.1, MCPORT=1719, TLSSRVR=192.168.110.253", but this not helps.

Problem is that, when ip phones receives ip configuration from DHCP, they cannot download firmware, but, when i enter ip configuration manualy, all is ok, phones are downloading firmware.

What i need to do, that ip phone searche firmware upgrade files on pot 81, not on 80 (with HTTPSRVR=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) or 411 (with TLSSRVR=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)

Try HTTPSRVR=192.168.110.1 as that may be the address of the S8300.

It wouldnt hurt to also add HTTPDIR=tftpboot as well

Make sure the files are located in the /tftpboot directory.

Simply uploading the files via the web browser is not sufficient as they are put in the /var/home/ftp/pub directory

firmware files are located in directory /tftpboot (uploadet via web and installed that .tar file (downloadet from support.avaya.com))

When i use HTTPSRVR, phones are trying access upgrade files on port 80, when TLSSRVR - on port 411.
But when i try open ip):(port)/46xxesttings.txt via internet browser, i can access that file only on 81 port, also all ports (80,81,411,443) are open on CM firewall. :(ports 80 and 443 is used for SMI web interface)

I think, then phones are looking on upgrade files on port 411 (with TLSSRVR), they are loking on diferent directory, not in /tftpboot.

You must eithre used TLS (port 411), with "TLSSRVR=", or you must use an external web server, as certain older firmware versions assume port 80 for HTTP, while the S8300 can only serve the files via port 81.

You are better off using an external HTTP server, to get the initial updating done...

And, TLSSRVR also gets the files from the /tftpboot directory... it all depends on what you have in your "46xxsettings.txt" file as well... I typically tell the phones to switch to HTTPSRVR=, and HTTPORT=81, in the 46xxsettings.txt file, this works most of the time for me.
