Good morning everybody, and Merry Christmas (nearly!)

I've had a request come in and it's a bit of a puzzler, so I thought I'd put it your way.

I work for a local authority and residential children's homes are among our sites. One of these has asked for a telephone to be provided which needs to meet specific requirements. It will be for the use of the children who live there, both for making and receiving calls. But, due to the nature of the environment and the users, there are specific conditions it will need to meet.

[li]The telephone must only allow 3 specific external numbers to be reached.[/li]
[li]Meanwhile, it must be one of our corporate phones in order to facilitate filtering of incoming calls through the home's main number - i.e. all calls to these kids will need to come through on the home's main number and then be transferred to the children's phone if appropriate. This rules out a third party solution, such as an device on its own line with its own features.[/li]

My immediate thought was a pre-translation group. I intended to create one that I could be apply to the phone and which would only allow dialling of the necessary numbers via a single digit press. However I'm having trouble. We appear to have 3 current pre-translation groups in place, though only two look like they're doing anything...

Code:
>>ld 20
REQ: prt
TYPE: pre
CUST 0
XLAT 0
 PRE 0
 PST 0
 SDA 0
XLAT 200
 PRE 200
 PST 200
 SDA 200
XLAT 201
 PRE 201
 PST
 SDA

I've only done this once before, and it was on another client's CS1K, but if I try to create a new pre-translation group I get a "nope" back - it seems to be saying I can't make a group specifically under cust 0 (the only one we use).

Code:
>ld 18
SCL000
MEM AVAIL: (U/P): 85814063 USED U P: 15168394 3750212 TOT: 104732669
DISK SPACE NEEDED: 7767 KBYTES
REQ new
TYPE pre
CUST 0
SCH3653
CUST ***
OVL000
>
OVL000
>err sch3653
>

SCH3653
Pretranslation data block already exists.

Can someone tell me if I'm missing something here? Maybe I'm going about it the wrong way? Alternatively, if anyone has any better suggestions on a solution to the request, then I'm all ears.

Thanks
Mike

Hi Firebird

Thanks very much! Not sure if I'm being a bit dim, but... should there be a link to your guide there then? Very happy to have a read.

I've grabbed that little log file, so thanks for that. I can see what you've done there and I'm familiar with all of it except for the CDB change under load 15. Just had a scout via Google and couldn't find out what that really does, so an explanation of that would be useful - maybe it's the significant part I'm missing? I'm currently hitting a brick wall when I try to create a new "pre" - that's when I'm given that quoted error. I can see you've built 3 groups there, just like I can see three groups currently on my CS1K here. Is that the most possible? It would explain that error I guess.

Cheers
Mike

what version of software are you on you could use ZFDP also if you are on latest. or like you say pre translation use single digit to translate to a spare 4 digit number then put that 4 digit number in as a Phantom/DSC/TSC or NCFW on ACD (Your choice) to translate to the destination you need. put all other single digits to go to ATT or its own number to give busy.

If you want to add a new Pre Translation then add an SCL with 10 entries 0-9 and then change PRE in LD 18 not new.
