I can't seem to get any email to go to addresses outside of our domain using Eudora 5.1. When attempting to send messages we receive a message saying "AUTH CRAM-MD5" and then a message stating that "Server gives reason: 553 The specified domain is not in the list of allowed rcpt hosts 5.7.1". I spoke with our email provider and they said that they've upgraded some things to prevent blacklisting and that they don't support CRAM-MD5. The mail providers "fix" was to get rid of Eudora or use someone else to send mail. Since my boss is set on using Eudora and I don't want to pay someone else to send my mail, is there anything else I can try?

Did you ever get an answer to this problem?

I'm in the process of cutting over my email from my long established ISP assigned email address to email address(es) defined by me in my own private domain.

Until I get my friends trained, I need to be able to read mail from and send mail to both my old and my new addresses. The worrding is different, but I get back a very similar message:

... server gives reason 553 ... domain is not in ... list of allowed rcpthosts.

I'm looking high and low for a solution but so far, all I've found is 1) switch email clients or 2) this feature might be available in paid mode.

Please reply if you can give me a more definative answer.

Thanks,

-- Vern
