problem regarding excel display through servlets in IE 5.0/5.5/6.0

The excel file opens with the help of servlet.It works fine with IE 4.0 but it fails to open in IE 5.0 /5.5/6.0 and pops up with the window saying -

what would you like to do with this file-
1. open this file from currrent location.
2. Save this file to disk.

what could be done to avoid this when MIME-TYPE is already set.

Any help will be appreciated.

I cannot be of much help but:
I have a similar problem in IE 5.5

Some excel sheets open just fine but trying linking to others I get a popup window downloading the file and opening excel.
Mind you this is in a local environment so without a webserver.
I'm using excel 97.

Any help would be much appriciated since the files will be distributed on CD and we don't want excel to open up but to show the file in the browser.
