I have 3 report based on 1 table.
Let's say report 'a','b','c' from D table which is linked to an excel files.

If I open report 'a' by itself, no problem.
But, when I open report 'a' and then another user tries to open 'b', it gives an error &quot;The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file <name>. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data. (Error 3051)&quot;

What can i do?

Did you ever solve this problem? I am having a similar problem and can't figure out how to prevent it from happening. I have an Excel file linked to an Access db. When more than 1 user accesses the table directly or via a report/query, they get a 3051 Error.

I solved the problem. I created a make-table query with all the data from the Excel file, then linked all my queries and reports to the make-table instead of the linked Excel file. I no longer get the 3051 Error.
