Problem opening folders.....

When trying to open folders either as shortcuts on the desktop or within the OS , they do not open. I get the "search" window. If I right click and select "open" everything is fine.
I do not know why this suddenly changed. Can anyone help?
I tried to make a command in the folder options but the only option available that is there is "find".

I am just confused and VERY TIRED!!!

There could be a corrupt file in the system. Try running Sfc in the run line and have your installation disk for your OS handy.
Have you ran a scan for ad ware? I use AdAware SE and spy bot search and destroy. These programs are free for home use. an do a great job.

The Sfc /SCANNOW was fine..no problem detected.
The info for Microsoft got it straightened out. Thanks a lot!!!!
