I have merlin7.0 w/MLM config.for t-1 service using PARTNER euro 34 btn. phones. The problem the user is having is identifying the lines placed on hold by sales attendants. All calls placed on hold flash green. Due to high call vol.there can be 7-15 calls flashing on hold...all calls are handled by auto/attnd. and sent to a call group of salesmen...On user's "old" partner sys. the each salesman could determine the location of the call they placed on hold, because it flashed green, and other calls flashed red.
Can this be done on my current system set up...I tried to help user out by assigning a toggle button for caller ID @ each phone, all it shows is the port the call routed through from the MLM. Any help is appreciated-thanks

I think groundstart is on the right path. It sounds as if you have your merlin 7 configured in a square key config where each line appears on it's own button.

-Reconfigure to a hybrid pbx mode with lines/trunks grouped into pools.
-Assign salesmens phones into auto-logout ACD hunt group.
-Administer their phone sets with 3 SA buttons. (This gives the person line access to be on an inbound call, conference externally and still consult a fourth internal or external party.)

In this arrangement, each salesmen only will have call appearances they are involved in. Receptionists/Operators with larger phones with more buttons can still be used as DLC (direct line consoles, where they have a busy lamp field for every last trunk and extension)

mitch & CinemaPhones..thanks for your response & sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Yes,this is configured as a squared system..user wanted each salesperson to see all lines, so when they are not busy, they can grab a call before it reaches auto attend. I will look at your suggestion and see how it works inregards to how they want the system to operate...thanks again, olantech1
