We have a citrix XPE 1.0 server that is experiencing issues; users cannot login fast when printer connection is turned on at login, if when it's turned off they can login in quickly. Also the users keep disappearing in the server node in management console and re-appearing. Any help would be grateful

Have you loaded the print drivers on to the Citrix box. Connect only their default printer too. If the printers are not autocreating they will experience long log in times.

Hi, I deleted all printer drivers and to start again, they autocreate ok.

The login from the published app is very slow form the ica file via internet. If you stop the print spooler service then the login is instance.Sometime the users disappear in the management console then after a while will re-appear, it's readly weird. In management console when this happens getting error code 527 session info. cannot be displayed. Any ideas?

Sounds like there session is dying. Do they need a printer and client drives via the internet. Probably a daft question but I have to ask it. Slow logins point (to me) at profile issues. Firstly switch off offline caching for these users. You have to login to a desktop as the user to do this. Secondly what size is their Terminal Services Profile in AD or User Mangler. If they are just launching apps then this should be small.

Ascotta,

Thanks for your advise. I think it's appears to be windows profile issue, in the environment tab if you unselect login printers and then I attach a default printer from the client pc so they can print then the slow login disappears. I not sure how to switch off offline cach and the profiles are between 3 to 4mb any further ideas?

there should be a setting in the CMC for allowing printers to map in the background without the user session waiting for them
