Problem linking a text file.

I have a database which contains two linked text files.

I had no problems for at least three weeks - I created a macro and the two files were linked via TransferText.

However, on the third week, and ever since, I have been receiving this error:

Cannot update. The Database or Object is Read Only.

However, neither the database nor file I am trying to link is Read Only. Why is it only happening now after 3 weeks?

Any help here would be gratefully appreciated.

A couple of things to check:

1) If the MDB is now on a network drive and shared among several users, you may need to open the MDB exclusively to get the update capability.

2) If the table being imported into does not have keys defined, you may get the Read Only message.
