So here we go,

I have a farm of five Windows 2000/SP4 servers.
Some time ago (2 weeks) I tried to uninstall Citrix from two other servers. For some reason it didn´t work out as it should do.
I thought it would be the best to install these two servres from scratch and then join them back into the old farm. I set up both servers as I always do (Ghost image), customized the installations for my needs and tried to install MetaFrame XPe. I selected the "join farm mode" and typed my database server in the field. That seamd to work out up to there. I was asked for my user account, password and domain name. I used the same as I always do. (An account wich I always use for normal logons to accomplish my work, the account works 100% and is set as MetaFrame administrator). I got the message that I should check my username, password or domain name.
I have tried all different ways of typing the credencials:

username
username@domain
username@domain.suffix
domain\username
domain/username (you never know)

eaven tried adding the domain user to the local group of administrators on that machine!
Have tried othe accounts. Nothing. Always the same error message. Check username, password.... uauauauauaaaaa!

It has always worked in the past!
I assume it has to to with the incorrect uninstall before.
Somehow I still have some old server info in my IMA database (running on access).
Have tried:
dscheck -> showed 7 errors
dscheck /clean -> all errors solved

dsverify SERVERS -> only shows the servers wich are working fine and saying so too.

Have tried installing MetaFrame in "new farm mode". Got that running, but didn´t really help me, because I get the same behaviour when trying to join the old farm via "chfarm command".
When I look at my MF20.mdb in access, I see some values from my old servers wich i uninstalled some time ago. Can I edit the MF20.mdb somehow?
Has anyone had similar problems? Can someone please help me out here?
It´s bean driving me crazy for the last week and I don´t know what to do next.

Thank you all very much and excuse my bad english.

It´s running on Access.
Have solved the problem for the time being. I just used the local administrator on the machine hosting the access IMA store. I don´t really know why it doesn´t work with a domain user, especially one, wich worked fine before ?!
Besides, I tried using the local admin before too. Could it have something to do with using the dsverify or dscheck commands?

Thanks a lot folks
Any further tips ar appreciated

Damien

It is imperative that you use Sysprep or some other form of SID cleaner when you Ghost a server, especially a Citrix Server. This is a common problem with duplicate images.

If you have not done so already, use the sysprep located on the Windows Server CD. Search for deploy.cab and extract it for the tools.

Thanks

The server has a new SID. Never the less I have changed it via the sysinternals SID tool. No difference :-( Just won´t work.
Maybe I should mention that I´ve moved the IMA store from one to another server in the farm. Since I have done that I can´t join new servers to the farm using the domain account I always used to use.
Ummmmpf my english is crap!

Cheers

Does the event log on any of the servers contain IMA Store related errors, or do all servers currently in the farm appear to be updating the database?

Have you tried the chfarm command on a current server but re-joining the original farm?

Lastly, (until we meet again) when you install Citrix on the first server using an Access Database, I have seen the currently logged on Domain account become the authenticating credentials for the database. If you have not tried these (albiet Local Admin or perhaps your Domain account) go ahead and give it a shot. I would suggest that if this works, you change to a non-domain account unless you migrate to SQL.

dsmaint config /user:Citrix1 /pwd:C1tr1x /dns:mf20.dsn

Good Luck...Let us know!

I am encountering some IMA logs in the event viewer.
I have not tried "Chfarm" and joining the same farm again.
Yes, as I said before, the local admin account works fine for joining servers to the farm.

Thanks again folks
