Hi,

I have Arcserve 2000 SP4 installed on around 30 servers.
These were all installed before I took over their administration and Arcserve was installed without the Alert option.
I want to send alerts via exchange rather than smtp which means I have to install the Alerter.

The problem is when I go to Add/Remove programs to change the Arcserve installation, it doesn’t recognise the Arcserve.msi from the original Arcserve installation directory…

Is there anything I can do without having to reinstall Arcserve?

Cheers,
Chris

What happens when you use the ARCserve 2000 CD-ROM and choose for modify ??

regards

It asks me to tell it where the ARCserve.MSI is, I point it to the right one but it tells me that it's invalid.....

I've had no joy on this subject.... Any ideas on how to avoid reinstalling everything just to install the Alerter??

Cheers,
chris
