Problem installing Me

Hi,

I'm trying to install Me on a drive that has had it's partition deleted and repartitioned and formatted so the slate is clean.

Everytime I try to install the program I get the following message. "Windows setup Requires Largest Executable Program Size to Be at Least 4,442,368 Bytes"

I have read the Microsoft Knowledge base articles on this and tried everything that I can think of to solve the problem to no avail. This also happens if I try to install Win 98.

Anyone have any ideas??

sounds like a hdd problem to me.

What size HDD are you using?
How many partitions?
Did you say yes to large block mode option?

make sure your system is up to par for the minimum requirments. I still think it's the hdd

In assume this is the MS knowledgebase article you were looking at:

If not, try it.

Also, run FDISK /MBR to rewrite the master boot record on the drive. This will eliminate any MBR virus or overlay software which might have been on the drive before.
