I've recently returned to work from sick leave and think that my brain is still off.

I have a form that has a field called Coding. Users select the "Leader" and the Coding gets displayed on the form. My problem comes when I try to update tblResults. The Coding field is blank. When I close the form I have tried Me.Dirty-"False". I have also tried DoCmd acSaveRecord. Neither one works.

On the form the Coding appears as soon as the LeaderID is selected. All that I want is for the Coding to appear in the table.

Any suggestions? Thanks

What is the ControlSource property of the Coding control (not field) in your form ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thank you PHV - both the ControlSource and the label are called Coding. Could this be the problem?

PHV - part of my problem may be that the recordSource for my form is qryResults which gets info from a number of related tables, including the coding. Then I try to write the Coding that is used in the form to a table called tblResults. tblResults is one of the related tables in the Record Source for the form.
