Hi,
I am using 7.0 and I have four report sets published as newsitems in one newsbox. All of them have some reports in them, three of the news items work well but fourth gives the error stated below. Can someone help me out with this.

Page generation error while preparing a page based on template: iwr_modifyprompts.utml.
The content request 'DescribeNewsItem' has failed.
The Cognos BI provider (IWR) failed with these messages: Failure occurred while executing prompt job for report
drive:\xyz\pqr\abc.imr.

Reason: drive:\xyz\pqr\abc.imr. Reason Error: 0, Generic;
Process ID: 3540; Thread: 4580; Host: server_name; Text: Unexpected Error.

Thanks in advance.

On the support-site of cognos I found the following text:

Solution:

Ensure that the report set is not corrupt and that the reports are synched up with the catalog in the report set. This error will occur when the reports were created against a catalog with a different datasource.

I hope this is helpfull

Greetings Arno

try to open and execute it with impserver (Ctrl+O to have file open menu).

If it's good modify your timeout on the gateway of IWR.

I have received the same error. I took the following steps then republished:

1. Verified prompt report opened correctly in Impromptu
2. Verified database signon
3. Verified the "Map All User Classes to:" was checked and the correct user class was identified in the catalog. (In my case, I do not have user classes in my catalog. Therefore, 'Map All User Classes to:' is 'Creator'.

Hope this helps,
If you need additional instructions, please let me know.
