Hi there

I have Gigabyte 8I845PE-RZC

I have one 1 GB PC3200 DDR DIMM, and two 512 MB PC2700 DDR DIMM's. How
to arrange them on the 3 memory slots to have the maximum 2 GB available
for this motherboard?

I tried some configuration , but the result is only 1.5 GB!

I search in the user guide, bud I did not find a
useful information about this.

Thank you for any suggestion!

Hi there,
Usually the motherboards manual (downloadable in PDF format from Gigabytes website) gives all the possible ram configurations as well as recommended ram models that have been pre-tested so are sure to work.
The Trouble is Motherboards can be a bit picky with different brands and speed ratings so I am guessing yours just won't be able to work (recognise their full capacity) with all the different modules installed at the same time.

Thank you for the answer.

But I didn't find such configuration in motherboard manual.
I asked directly to Gigabyte .
This is what they answered.

About the issue you
mentioned, with the hardware spec, it can support up to 1GB double
side+2*512MB single side memory modules to achieve 2GB in total. If you
still have hardware compatibility issues with your memory module, we
will suggest you to test with others or contact your supplier to see
whether they can help to look into this issue for you by looking at the
system.

Alex,
I found it hard to believe it wasn't in the manual. I took 2 minutes and found it in there as paparazi advised. Perhaps you weren't looking in the right place, but here's a link to download the manual:

On page 14, you'll see a chart showing you which DIMM slots to use for single or dual-sided modules. Even though the manual is for a GA-8I845PE-Pro, it still applies to your motherboard model too. You have the same chipset.
