I have a users PC that won't connect to any web sites. I have checked for connectivity and have verified that it has a connection to the internet. I can ping the gateway as well as all DNS servers. I can also ping the web sites from DOS and the addresses resolve with DNS. The machine had AOL on it, but I removed it because I thought that it could be causing my problem. This was not the case because it still cannot find any web pages.

Any help is appreciated.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Is this PC behind a firewall ? Which browser are you using ?
Do you have others PC on the same LAN which can browse without any problem ?

Christian,

Thanks for your reply. I was finally able to figure out that the user had installed a local firewall that I wasn't aware of. Upon removing the firewall the machine came up and was able to connect to the internet with no problems.

Thanks again,

Chris
