I have MDaemon setup with email accounts. I can setup one of these email addresses on a networked computer and it can send mail. To receive, I went to register.com where I bought my domain and forwarded mail.xxxx.ca to xxxx.ca to try to get emails to come in ... doesn't work.

Where am I supposed to forward the mail.xxxx.ca to?

My setup is really simple and it works. I use DomainPop mail collection menu to collect emails coming to the domain name. All emails are spooled and then redisributed by MDaemon based on the setup accounts.

I think you forgot to change your MX record?
By what I read here is that you kind of said that anyone browsing to mail.domain.com will end up at your server but that is not what mail uses to find the mail server.
It uses a MX Record in the DNS settings .

Good Luck
