Hi,

I'm using SQL Server 2005 on my machine. I'm trying to import some data from anther server which has SQL Server 2000.I'm trying to get a particular table from SQL 2000-> SQL 2005.

So I'm using the DTS wizard to do this.

Rt Click on the table in SQL Server 2000-->All task--> Export Data
Then I get the wizard and I select the source database... On the next step where in I have to select my destination server....I dont find my server listed on the dropdown.. So I manully type the name of my server... and once I type the name of the server and when I try to select the DB is gives me an error.....

Error Source: MS OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Error Description: Login failed for the user. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL server connection.

Context: Error during the initialisation of the provider..

What do I do now...Where am I going wrong...Please help...

Thanks,

Rahul.

There's a number of posible reasons for this...

1. Do you have a vaild SQL Login on each instance of SQL Server?

Also consider...

2. Is your SQL Server 2005 instance set up to allow remote conections (Start > Programs > SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Surface Area Configuration)

3. Are the 2 SQL instances connected to the network?

What happens if you try to import data into SQL 2005 from the 2000 instance?

Cheers,
Leigh
