I have, for the first time, created an Access 2000 Project and used SQL server 7 as the "back-end" to store the tables.

I can create a new record in an Access Form but when I try to amend the data an existing record I cannot add more text to a field. If I highlight the existing text I can replace it but the cursor stops before I reach the end of the field. Blank fields are OK.

I am using Char fields of fixed length (say 40 characters) and I have a Primary index.

What am I doing wrong?

I have be advised that I should be using Nvarchar, and it now works fine!
