I use mostly .ttf but I have a number of adobe .psf. Recently I had a crash and had to re-install all my fonts. Now I have an interesting problem with the postscript ones. They work okay, and they display okay on my screen--unless I distort them, i.e. stretch them horizontally or vertically. The minute I do that, they become INVISIBLE. Anybody know what's up with that? (If I clear transformations, returning them to their unaltered state, they display fine. Also, the distorted type display perfectly on another system.)

Not sure what .psf fonts are - type 1 are .pfb for the actual outline and .pfm for the metrics (I'll assume a typo - something I've perfected over years)Your problem may be related to having a font installed in both flavours ie Garamond as both True Type and Postscript.

Not a fix but a quick way around, try converting to curves before you stretch your text.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, the .pfs is a typo; they are Type 1. I don't have these fonts inadvertently installed as both True Type and Postscript. Converting to curves does cure the display problem, but it's not a work-around I would like to continue to use.

I have discovered, however, that the text is invisible only in Normal View--NOT invisible when I use Enhanced View.
