I am trying to set up an auto-attendant that will have the option to press 1 to dial an outside number or 2 to leave a message on the mail box.I am trying to create the station on the definity PBX that has an extension that is not one of my DID's, I just picked a number 6543. I gave the port X on the PBX for that extension. I created The auto-attendant on the intuity AUDIX.I want to be able to put the phone on night service and forward the phone to the 6543 extension. When I call 6543 extension I get a fast busy.Do I have to use one of my available range of extensions on the PBX, because I don't have many left. Is it because the port is X? How do I set it up to ring the extension with no physical port and go to the auto-attendant? Do I have to create a second mailbox in Audix to actually get the voice mail if they press option 2?

Normally, the auto-attendant has his own extension (let's say 1234).
To route calls to the auto-attendant you need to create the same extension (1234) in the Definity.
Make sure that extension 1234 has Audix as cov path, as you do this with any other phone. I created a special cov path that will route the calls to Audix after 1 ring and option ALL set to Yes (this to speed up the transfer).

What you need to do is to forward all calls from your phone to extension 1234. And that is it.
Audix will see a call coming in for subscriber 1234, and as subscriber 1234 is configured as auto-attendant......

It doesn't matter if the 1234 is not a DID or that it is an X-port. I'm not using a DID, the extension is X-ported and it works fine.

Just put the cov path in and it will work.

Hope this helps,
Erik.

I guess the problem I am running into now, is creating the correct coverage path. I have both the Audix station and the PBX extension set up as 6410. I created the new coverage path 8 and set the coverage path1 in the PBX station form to point to it. In the Lucent docs, it says in the coverage path form on the coverage pts, they must be a hunt group, coverage answer group, remote coverage point,VDN extension, or attd.In the docs it says if the call is to redirect to Audix, administer a unique Hunt-Group form, assign the Audix extension in the group Extension field. I created the new hunt-group 6 and tried to assign 6410 extension to it, it won't let me assign that extension, I guess because I already created it as a station on the PBX.
So how do I make the correct cover path to point to the Audix extension?

1) Search for the lines that are used for routing calls to audix. Use the following command: li sta type ADX8D or ADX16D . The option ADX8D or ADX16D depends on the version of your Audix.
You will get a list of extensions, write them down.
Or do a 'list sta' and see if you can find stations with a similar type.

2) Create a hunt and put those extensions in it (page 3).

3) Create the cov path and assign the hunt to a point in the coverage path.

Example:
1) You find extensions 5000 to 50008
2) Create the hunt (99) and add extension 5000 to 5008 at page 3
3) Create the cov path (99, keep it easy) and put in point 1: h1.

If you assign cov path 99 to an extension, the system will route the calls to hunt 1 (h1) and will find an extension that is connected to Audix.

I think that raps it up. Let me know if this helped you out.
It has been a loooong time that I did this.

Erik.

OK, I used an existing coverage path that pointed to the extensions that lead to Audix. I am getting the Audix extension I created, but I receive a message in Audix now when I call the extension that says "Attendant Service Not Available, Try Again Later, Please Disconnect."
I set the permissions on the extension I created to Auto-Attendant. Why is it playing this message? I should be getting the announcement I created. I have not set any button features, because I figured I would here the recorded announcement I created first.

Sounds like you haven't recorded the greeting for the mailbox yet. i.e. "press 1 for this, press 2 for that".

The first thing I did when I started this was create the greeting. I can log into audix and still hear and administer the greeting I created for the auto-attendant extension. I even tried seting some features like press "1" for this and "2" for that on the extension. If I call the auto-attendant extension from any extension I get that message saying "Attendant Service Not Available, Try Again Later, Please Disconnect."

Are you using the same COS as any other subscriber ??
You need to create a special COS for the auto-attendant.
Otherwise it will not work.

And maybe a stupid question, did you activate the greeting ??? (I made that mistake when I created my auto-attendant. Took me some hours to solve that one)

Erik.

Just a note, once you have done all of this make sure the treatment is correct. On the last page of the auto attendant the 2nd column is treatment, ie.. call answer, transfer, etc...

Hello All,
Just wanted to thank you for all your help. Especially EPalle. I got it working. The greeting was recorded, it just wasn't active.
Again, Thank You ALL!!!!!!

During office hours, our company has a receptionist to answers all calls. But if she doesn't answers, it is suppose to go to our general voice mailbox. It goes to one of the office user. How can I fix this problem?

Thank you
