I have a form with Text Boxes containing logins and passwords. I often have have to copy and paste them somewhere else. But the clipboard keep showing "Item not Collected: Format not supported by Office Clipboard." Sometimes it works on the first ctrl-c/ctrl-v and stop working on the second ctrl-c/ctrl-v. Sometimes it works after opening and closing the form then stop working again.

Is there a work around to ensure I'm alway be able to copy to clipboard?

Hi Tommy,

I don't think that this is really an MS Access 'problem'. (And therefore you may well not get the response here that you are looking for).

After googling for this problem, it does seem to be 'correct' behaviour, in the sense that copying / pasting will not work for unexpected 'objects'.

Would I be correct in assuming that the 'login' textbox will paste ok, but the password won't. Also, is the password 'hidden' (i.e. asterisks)?

The 'hidden' password may well behave like this for security reasons - no?

Personally, I'd have a special admin form for this, which displays login and passwords in unformatted textboxes - that way you should have no problems.

No asterisks.
Simple text box won't let me copy/paste at all. A message appear saying "Item not Collected: Format not supported by Office Clipboard."

I store information such as email address that is quickest to import with copy paste into another form such as Outlook instead of looking at the text box and typing it out.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Hi Tommy,

Are you sure that you have no 'formatting' on this text-box?
E.g. has the textbox got a weird font?
