Problem backing up PBX over xmodem

So in my infinite wisdom, I decide to try to backup our PBX over xmodem:

ld 143
xbk
<cr>
<cr>
R>

At this point I tell Minicom to accept a file via xmodem, and Minicom says there was a failure executing this protocol. Great. Now I can't access my switch cause presumably it's sitting there trying to send a file to me. Any thoughts on how I can exit ld 143 in this state?
