For some reason I cannot make a connection with my tftp server! I am using SolarWinds...

COMMAND:

Router#copy flash tftp
Source filename []? c3640-i-mz.122-28c.bin
Address or name of remote host []? 192.168.70.1
Destination filename [c3640-i-mz.122-28c.bin]?
.....
%Error opening tftp://192.168.70.1/c3640-i-mz.122-28c.bin (Timed out)

SO I DID:
Router#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Router(config)#no serv conf
Router(config)#exit
Router#
00:27:50: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by console
Router#write mem
Building configuration...
[OK]

THAT DID NOT WORK EVEN AFTER I DID A RELOAD!

***I tried disabling my firewall to no avail as well!

maczen,

I looked at the power cords that came in the box with the 2611s we bought brand new from a reseller in 1999 and I could not tell the difference with one that came with the Dell computer sitting next to it! I am sure a Cisco CRS 7 foot tall 17 terabit per second router might need a special cord but the 2500s, 2600s and 3600s should be good with a GOOD quality cord!

As for the network module for the 2610 (access server) - forget it - it is very expensive $$$$$$ and I really think it is more for "yucks and giggles" or to impress your geek friends UNLESS you are going to put it out on the Internet for remote access!

Now with your luck (4 switches for $35) you will be at the mall Sunday and some guy will say "psssst - you want a Cisco network module....." :) :)

I am looking for a link for a 700 page CCNA lab book that used to be "out there" - it walked you through from basic plugging the router in to advanced routing labs!

I will check!

Found it -
Learning by Doing:
CISCO Certified Network Administrator
(CCNA)
Lab Manual version 5.0

By Matt Basham - he was my "train the trainer" instructor at St. Petersburg College and he made national news when he taught college classes and used "free" text books!

This is his 5th edition! Have not looked at this one yet - past has always started out basic and worked to advance stuff needed for CCNA.

You can get a PDF (free) 700 pages -

Link seems to work fine but if it does not just go to and then search CCNA!

Have fun !!
