hi..

first my linux box is using 10gig, then i move it to a new 20 gig hd
im using bootdisk then do "dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb"
reboot then installed lilo on the new disk

the system is now running but the problem is the new 20gig hd only 10gig are detected (using df command)
but using cat /proc/partitions it shows 20 gig

what am i doing wrong?how do i fix it?
anyone?...

thanks

Basically, doing it that way, you just made a Xerox copy of the 10gig drive.

i did?damn..
now the original 10gig drive is gone for good.
how am i supposed to get it right?

You need to create the filesystem first and then copy the data.

Just do the reverse of what you did the first time to get the disk image back to where it was, then do as Morsing says.

i cant get a spare 10gig drive for doing a reverse like u said :(

it ok.. i might just backup and reinstall the whole thing
next weekend

thanks guys
