I am having a problem accessing a fastrad via the serial port. Have a MICS running 6.1 and am using NRU 10. Have downloaded all the "map" files. The access works via modem, but not via the serial port. Have tried another fastrad - same problem. I know the PC is talking to the serial port as when I am trying to access the Fastrad via the serial port, I cannot access the fastrad via the F9** command from a telephone. I have the serial port set to 19200 / 8 bits / 2 stop bits. Any suggestions?

When using the NRU software, You need to have your connection set as a "Direct" connection & also your 9 way RS232 cable should be straight pinned through from the pc to the FastRad.
My cable uses a standard RJ45 8 wire cord which has within it "pin 8" spare.
I hope that this helps you.

Also make sure it is a straight through serial cable not a NULL.

The cable I use has worked on other 4.x systems with a fastrad so I am sure it is the correct config. I have the NRU software set to "Direct". Thanks for the suggestions.

Set your baud rate down to only 9600 for direct connect!!

You state 19200/8 bits/2 stop bits. I beleive it is 8N1. I use 19200 & 9600, I think 19200 is default but use 9600 as well.

anybaud rate , 8 bits no parity and 1 stop bit

when using for direct connection - you need to configure the system ID correctly
if there is a mismatch(RAD used on another system) that'll not work (this is set under 9**)
